Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in a 1:1 session?
Sessions are 50-80 minutes on the NousTalk platform, focused on your needs. We start with what feels heaviest for you, using somatic practices, parts work, and meaning-making to help you find hope and purpose. It’s a safe, non-judgmental space.
What's the difference between counselling and coaching?
Counselling is regulated (MPCC-P) and usually available only to BC residents for mental health treatment. Coaching is legally considered non-therapeutic and is more of a goal-focused support, open worldwide. Both are trauma-informed, book a free connection call to see what’s right for you.
Do you accept insurance?
As an MPCC-P, 1:1 counselling is reimbursable through many extended health plans. Contact me for a list of providers who usually cover my services, but always double check directly with your insurance plan provider. I can direct bill through Telus Health (provider number 2157401). Coaching, groups, workshops, and other services are not covered. I can provide receipts for all services.
Are sessions virtual or in-person?
All 1:1, groups, and most workshops are virtual for flexibility and accessibility (unless specifically set up otherwise). In-person workshops/consulting are available in coastal BC (e.g., Sunshine Coast, Greater Vancouver) or further with travel covered.
What if I'm in crisis?
My services are supportive but not for emergencies. For immediate help in BC, call the Crisis Line at 1-888-494-3888 or 988. We’ll screen during our connection call to ensure a good fit.
How do payments work?
Secure payments through the Nous Talk platform or e-transfer. Payment plans available for groups/intensives. Full details on the service page.
Can I get a refund?
To respect everyone’s time and energy, please provide at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancels/no-shows are charged the full fee. For groups, refunds are full up to 48 hours before start (minus $50 admin fee); prorated after. Emergencies waived with notice, contact me if you need flexibility, and we’ll work it out compassionately.
